A date

It's been a while since I update my being here. Too much updates, too little time. Too fast a thought, too soon it passes.
Listening to "marry you" and reminiscing time with bird. So here I shall begin with my date with bird! There is this cycle where you r in a relationship for some time and the exciting spontaneous moments seems to fade away. Almost everyone tell me this is parts n parcel of a relationship. "It's like that!", people said. But well I'm not an "it's like that" person so I decided to make it a point to go out with bird n call it a date! Yeah! What difference does it make..some may question. We do movie, we do dinner, we take a stroll. We do that other days too. Guess the difference is calling it a date heighten our awareness of moments together and give time for us to connect, instead of being buried under work conversations, reading of books. It perhaps also creates a space where we take a look up close again at each other. The eyes, the hair.. The voice.. The little things that you notice when you first curious about each other. And at the end of the day, I get to go through reminiscing the date we had and being thankful of bird going along with me on having a date and didn't shut me up as being crazy to ask for a date.

Guess we all have the power to create the kind of relationship we want and live to it. So why simply brush your desire away and tell yourself "it's just like that" Why live with "just like that" when you can create more and live the relationship you wish to have.

Enough of my musing, here's us in a new found jap restaurant that has nice cold soba! Love how the whole place look so authentic Japanese.

Owl "cook" for bee!

Bird is lovely!!!! He is mixing and "cooking" the rice from pepper lunch for bee! Bee is touched watching how he gently stirred the rice, mix the ingredients (even added my fav ingredients; cheese and mushrooms) and portion it into a small bowl for me since I can't eat so much! Aww! Seriously I'm feeling so pampered! Hehe reminds me of how my mum portion my rice and had a hard time feeding me. So well I have found a man who could have the patience with me and take care of bee! Yea! Every woman, no matter how smart or independent..at the end of the day, still yearn for someone who they could feel taken care of! I'm touched! I'm blessed! I'm thankful:)

Happy Release!

Ok. I finally cleared off my pile of work (at least whatever phrase it is),
I'm finally easing my buzzing a little to rejuvenate!
And here's one happy Bee with people she loves so much! hehe
Having a feast @Little Part One Cafe! hehe Yeah celebrating my "accomplishment" of my last part of 2011! And here I'm looking forward to my long long long awaited off days (Yeah! brother bear asked me for talk after I finally untangle myself from the webs of rushing for the past days and the first thing is excitement, running after him with two pretty sheets of leave forms for him to sign)
Him signing the papers is such a bliss! You know like looking at the brother bear with a pocketful of wishes and looking at his hand on the papers doing "magic"!
So here I'm like a school kid looking forward for my "school holiday"
and like a dada, brother bear sounded like a worried dad who afraid the bee would gone too far in playing and forget everything about "homework"! Keep reminding me that I have to do this.. and that and this! haha
Seriously! Like a kid indeed, nothing of those really got into my mind once the forms are signed! I'm very focused! on my off days! Thinking who to meet and what to do to connect with myself:)

Sun with Moon, Bee with Bird

Finally brought Bird to Sun with Moon restaurant. hehe They serve great jap food. Most of all, I wanted to bring Bird there because of its name! hehe Sun with Moon. So if I am the Sun, Bird is the Moon! And we are when the sun and moon aligned. hehe

My lunch

My lunch! Instant noodle with fishballs and egg. Accompanied by ikan bilies my mum prepared earlier. At home, we seldom have meals in the kitchen because the size is simply not very conducive. But at times, when I'm alone at home, I do love to eat in the kitchen especially a day like this where the sunlight shines in with gentle breeze, birds chirping and blue sky with white clouds:)
This is a luxury:)
Enjoy simple pleasure in life and you will realise the beauty of it:)

10 ways of eating bread

Craving for simple white bread with butter and kaya. Bought a normal sized loaf of bread..instead of the large packet. But somehow there is a promotion going on and I'm given an extra pack of long buns!
So I started to think what am I gonna do with the white bread...
1. Butter & Kaya spread Done!
2. Butter & Sugar spread Done!
3. French toast with eggs
4. Butter and Jam
5. Butter with spicy floss
6. Sandwich w Mini Hotdogs
7. Deep fried Bread w mushroom mix
8. Butter & rasins mix
9. Tuna sanwich
10. Garlic breadsticks

On the idea of thrift..I think a packet of $1.80 white bread does worth so much more;
*Joy of thinking what to make out of the bread
*Excitement of getting ready the ingredients (though of course I won't have time for complicated stuffs! But for someone who don't cook, buying eggs and tuna from a supermarket can be pretty exciting ^_^
*The spur of motivation to jump out of bed to prepare the bread and package them nicely for Bird! (Though "nicely" is probably in Bee's standard; it will be good as long as it's not flatten)
*Taking picture of it to document that I follow through the list I wrote here give me a secret sense of pleasure and satisfaction (yeah sounds silly, but guess its part of me that fulfillment is an important value)
*Feel good that I can thrift and enjoy so much more out of a simple $1.80.. hehe

random notes and sweeties

Had a sweet sweet evening:) So full of sweet stuffs! cake! waffle with icecream!
it's yummy! but lesson learnt; never eat too much sweet stuffs together! It's kind of overwhelming!
But I was just being a kid! pointing at everything that attracts me! And there are just so many!
*wink*
So speaking of living for the moment! Guess I did too! especially when following my craving and being a kid! Awwww Bird is on off and Bee gonna be so buzzy tomorrow! =_='
Looking forward to the weekends! and perhaps when the busy period is over!
Really need to get things done as I approach a different stage or segment of life! I would rather see it as a brand new exciting journey than me getting older! haha So if no one makes it interesting for me! I have to create some excitement and things to look forward to for myself!
Right or not, I think having something to look forward to and works towards to is a great feeling! Tough as it may be, but it makes life fulfilling!
Do not wait for anyone to fill your life.
Live it with your all.
I'm not a patient person. I dislike waiting unless I know what I'm waiting for. I like to be on the move. I like to have dreams and works towards it!
I love to share my emotions instantaneously!
I love to love and speak and live of love.
I may seems to be overwhelming! aggressive! but seriously,
I think I'm simply passionate and committed:)
Bee is writing to give myself some kick! some hope! some love!

Bee can cook!

Chicken Wings in oyster sauce with ginger & mushrooms!
A dish I haven't cook for at least 14 years! haha it's pretty exciting to experiment with taste!
Baked potato
Not the best baked potato I have made.. I ran out of sea salt!!
But over all, well edible! hehe and the herb saves it all!
Now I'm left with many washed potato wonder what should I do..

Looks like a spread!!
White wine is the best after all the cooking!!
And wedges and spicy nuggets courtesy of my brother!!
I'm actually happy to be able to cook in the kitchen and have a little bonding time with my brother..
listening to him sharing his critique on movies..
No any luxury restaurant can compare to this experience I have here.
I'm so glad Bird enjoy the food especially my impromptu chicken wing dish!
because personally I love this dish and I've found another similarity between us;
Bird loves dish with ginger too! hehe I love ginger! ginger with century egg, ginger tea, raw ginger with sashimi... hehe
Loves:D
Thankful for such lovely weekend of wine and dine at home:)

Apple crumble makes me smile

Receive this image from Bird and I'm totally in love with it and him and most of all; it makes me smile just like the cartoon in the picture; a simple yet satisfied contented smile:)
The thing is I love to smile and who don't love to be happy..but at times things just overwhelm you and you didn't know what to do but to hide in a cocoon. (Which is exactly what I did)
I'm glad Bird is here for me, showing me love and care and most of all understanding.

Bird gave me a surprise by presenting this set of apple crumble from dome at a Mc.
of course I'm delighted! And something I learnt.. not only does dome apple crumble taste great.. Apple crumble is best eating with your loved ones by your side.
Earlier of the day I got myself an Apple crumble from mc and well I can hardly finish it.. it taste sour and no matter how warm it is..it is nothing compared to the warmth I receive when Bird sit by my side while I eat together with him.
Thank you my dear:)

Tomato pasta for Bird & Bee

Pasta with tomato sauce.
Spend time meddling in the kitchen today. hehe it feels good to just stay home and have alittle indulgence. Tried something the first time today! I cooked raw minced meat! Yes it may sounds no big deal, especially if it would my mum, she would probably laughing at my performance with the popping mince meats like pop corns! I was taken aback and panic for a moment, thinking how am I going to catch those popping mince meat. It's hilarious to look back now. Not the exact colour I was imagining, but taste edible and that's the key from someone who can't really cook. Cooking my own meals makes me appreciate my mum's cooking even more. It's really hard work and takes alot of passion I supposed. I'm glad Bird eat my cooking heartily and giving me encouragement that's nice! hehe

Lovely weekend:)

Had a great weekend full of activities with Bird.
Just browsing through pictures we took and can't wait to share and
make a note here to remember these beautiful moments.
So here I shall do a recap before posting pictures of little moments in between:

1. We had a hair cut day!
(Yes! we finally had our hair cut after weeks of rambling about it. And hmm I kind of love my new short neat hairstyle though it isn't quite what I was expecting it to be. Refreshing. Convenient. Simple.)

2. We had dinner at a cheese restaurant designed with fish tanks surrounding each seats. Food so so, but interesting to see fishes swimming around.

3. A walk in my childhood town.
(A place that means a lot to me. A home where I grew up, first went to school, library, play etc. A town that holds great memories. A town that once was bustling, but now left behind till future development. Will anyone remember this place 30 years down the road? A town that has lived its glory! I still remember so vividly how my mum would bring me to the wet market, me climbing the stairs, look through the metal grills and peeping in at my grandma selling porridge. I still remember the taste of the porridge, noodle, bee hoon, glutinous rice and how we would go there every weekend even when we moved out of this town. Me enjoying my porridge with egg while my dad helping out at the store (though most of the time, he was just reading papers away hehe) and my mum would go market. Aww! And I would be playing in my own little world, walking on the raised up pavement in one line, trying to balance my way. Opposites are old flats with elderly playing chess under the shades...I really miss this place so much. It's kind of saddening to now see what it has become. My heart was shouting out.."Please please remember this place.." to whoever who once live and love here.
I remember how mum will bring me to school and buy me colorful m and m lookalike candies that are wrapped up nicely in a number '8' shape packaging after school. We will occasionally go to the departmental shop nearby or get donuts from the bakery. Aww I miss these moments. This is how much I treasure these moments here.
Every tiny little pieces)

4. We took many pictures in this now quiet town. Capturing the last glimpse of it before it transformed into another typical mall and estate.

5. I'm thankful that I have Bird and his little nephew to walk through the town with me.

Perhaps leaving a mark on my life a transition. My new stage of life.
"I learn to appreciate memories and at the same time learning to let go of memories that been holding me back."
I learn to be acceptance of life's changes, appreciate it, living and breathing it all with love.
I open my heart.

6. We finally play MONOPOLY cards with the guidance of little nephew (our star of the day)
at my favourite Mcdonald! oh and we played Frisbee too!!
I'm a rich woman!
Happiest moment = finally catch the Frisbee in my hands (Not for long though)
7. Photo taking in bus on our way to the mall.
Have Sushi dinner and window shopping. Took many pictures of our star!
And this kind of mark the end of our Sunday.

8. Public holiday Monday. Always feels good to have a weekday holiday.

9. Woke up late. Supposed to meet Bird earlier to laze around, read a book at Starbucks, but I ended up got hooked on doing up a banner for the blog. And as usual, my mind is sometimes wired up to do many things at the same time! As I was doing the banner, I have this strong urge to cook for Bird!
And so after doing some house chores, I went ravaging through my fridge looking for ingredients for my stir-fried macaroni with sausage and mushroom. Went to the market. Bought the ingredients and it's show time! I was home alone, slicing the mushroom, listening to birds chirping aloud from outside. It's quite a nice experience.

10. Kitchen dancefloor with popping mushrooms and hopping tomatoes
I poured oil in the wok and wow! Oil spurted everywhere!
My dad came home and thought I was crazy! But we are both quite the same! He stirred the ingredients so hard that mushrooms went popping out of the wok! And ingredients starts to stick on the wok! haha it's fun to cook with not so good cook sometimes! haha

11. Finally Dinner ready! But I'm way late in meeting Bird.
My home cook stir fried macaroni!
Never see anyone eating my cooking so enthusiastically:D

Love those sparkling eyes!

12. Spread out our dinner boxes at the open space outside the library, sat on the stairs and enjoying looking at Bird savoring my home cook macaroni! First time ever, I see light on the face of someone tasting my cooking! And it feels honestly true! I'm happy:)
13. I was imagining us eating in a cafe during winter in Europe! Cold breeze.. smell of xmas butter cookies, old grandma smiling at us, offering us her piping hot home baked butter cookies from a big tray! Children singing Xmas carols, people dressing up as Santa Claus. Everyone is happy, smiling, giving:) Fat birds eating on the sidewalk. Us, Bee and Bird side by side, cuddling together, breathing in the moment.

14. We watched a movie. A comedy.

15. Took a walk, window shopping.

16. Late night supper of desserts at Mcdonald to wrap up a wonderful day:)
I love you Bird.
